GP-SW1500-TS Pure Sine Wave Inverter & Transfer Switch: Basic Troubleshooting

Inverter does not turn on (No Lights)/UVP Error Light:

*UVP Error denoted by a slow blinking status light

Inverter ON/OFF Switch:

Check inverter ON/OFF toggle switch. Ensure toggle switch is set to the ON position for testing and not the “Remote” position.

Battery Voltage Check:

Using a multimeter set to read DC volts and battery power connected, check the voltage at the inverter DC terminals. Battery voltage reading at terminals should be between 10 to 15 VCD.

If voltage measured is between 10-15v and holds stable during attempting power up and unit fails to turn on, replace unit.

If voltage measured is between 10-15v and holds stable during attempting power up and unit shows UVP Error, replace unit.

No AC Output

AC output voltage check:

Using a multimeter set to measure AC Volts and with the unit turned on, check the AC voltage on the outgoing (4 and 5) terminal block

sw2

If there is no voltage recorded and power saving mode is not enabled, ensure all terminal block screw connections are tight and torqued to 16in.-lbs.

If no AC output voltage is recorded after these checks, replace unit.

No AC Pass through

AC input voltage check:

Using a multimeter set to measure AC Volts, check the incoming AC on the terminal inputs (2 and 3) to the terminal block.sw3

Voltage of around 120VAC should be measured between the AC input/L and AC input/N terminal block screws.

If there is no voltage recorded, then no power is reaching the unit. Check circuit that feeds the input to the inverter.

If AC voltage is present on input and there is no power on the AC output terminals (4 and 5), replace unit.
